How did Downtown Coffee House get its start? I started making specialty coffee drinks when I was 16 and soon fell in love with the way I could create a fun drink and make people happy. I continued making drinks and learning there is much more to coffee than just making the drink. What makes coffee good? You must learn how to pull a shot of espresso and make it taste good as a stand-alone drink and also paired with milk-based drinks. The ratios and grind size need to be right. If not, you will end up with a bitter or dis-tasteful coffee. Soon I learned that this was a hobby turned passion and it was becoming much too costly for a hobby. So, November 20, 2020, we opened Downtown Coffee House. My parents own “The Bake Shoppe” and we built a beautiful coffee bar in the lobby of their business. But this was not enough…. We wanted to make it more personal, so we bought our own coffee roaster to bring you fresh locally roasted coffee beans.
